Position: Archaeologist – Field and Post-Excavation Support

Courtney Deery Heritage Consultancy Ltd is seeking a career-focused archaeologist to join our team and support our site directors in both archaeological test excavation and post-excavation artefact processing, including material from our ongoing work at the historic site of St Mary’s Abbey.

Key Requirements

• Some excavation experience is essential

• Experience in artefact processing is preferable

• A strong interest in developing professionally within the archaeological sector.

• Full driving licence and access to a car – the role will be based in Dublin but will involve travel to sites across Ireland.

• Mileage and overnight expenses will be covered.

• Training and mentorship will be provided as part of this role.

This is an excellent opportunity to work across a variety of sites, contributing to projects/small excavations, and artefact analysis while gaining broad experience in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
